NOTICE OF RACE
- ORGANISING AUTHORITY
The Organising Authority (OA) will be Inniscarra Sailing & Kayaking Club.
- VENUE
The venue will be the waters of Inniscarra Lake in the vicinity of Inishleena Recreation Area.
- RULES
3.1 This event will be governed by the rules as defined in the World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing 2021-2024. In the event of a conflict between this Notice of Race and the instructions of the Officer of the Day, the instructions of the Officer of the Day shall prevail.
3.2 The Irish Sailing Association prescriptions to The Racing Rules of Sailing for 2021-2024 will apply.
3.3 Subject to the approval of the race Committee, a chartered or loaned boat for the event may declare at the time of entry or registration a sail number which may be different from the registered number of the hull, provided that the number declared shall not be the sail number of any other boat competing in the regatta.
3.4 All competitors must wear a buoyancy aid or life jacket when on the water.
3.5 All competitors must comply with instructions given by members of the Committee, the Race Officers or the person in charge of the safety boat.
- ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
4.1 General
All competitors shall comply with ISAF Eligibility Rules (RRS Appendix K1).
The regatta is open to all classes of sailing dinghies and handicaps will be in accordance with the RYA Portsmouth Yardstick Number List 2022

Entry procedure
Entries can be made on-line forms can be obtained on the day and fee is to be paid on the day.
4.3 Entry fee
A non-refundable fee of €20 per Crewed boat, €10 per solo dinghy, shall be paid in advance of racing.
4.4 Entry Disclaimer
It is the Competitor’s decision to enter the Regatta or to start in any race. Competitors shall accept that their participation in the Regatta is at their sole exclusive risk in every respect. By way of entry to the Regatta competitors shall indemnify Inniscarra Sailing & Kayaking Club, their officers, members, servants and agents in respect of all claims and demands of whatever nature which may be made upon them in connection with or howsoever arising from their participation or intended participation in the Regatta. Competitors shall acknowledge that Inniscarra Sailing & Kayaking Club, their officers, members, servants and agents accept no responsibility in respect of loss of life, personal injury or loss or damage to property which may be sustained by reason of their participation or intended participation in the Regatta or howsoever arising in connection with these events
4.5 Insurance
All privately owned boats shall have third party insurance cover of not less than €1,500,000 (or the equivalent thereof in any other convertible currency) for any accident. All owners / competitors who sign the entry forms are deemed to have made a declaration that they hold such cover. Owners / competitors not holding this cover shall withdraw their entry.
- REGISTRATION
Registration will open online at 19.00 on September 9th 2021 on the Inniscarra Sailing & Kayaking Club, website Inniscarra Sailing & Kayaking Club – Inniscarra Sailing & Kayaking Club (corksailing.com) Club boats will be allocated on a first come first served as part of the registration Process. Measurement, examination of measurement certificates and/or measurement checking may take place as part of the registration process.
- RACE SCHEDULE
It is proposed to sail 4 races to allow 1 discard though 2 races will make an event.
Proposed Schedule of Races:
Regatta Briefing: Sunday, 11th September 2022 : 11.00 hours
First Gun: Sunday, 11th September 2022 : 11.45 hours
The schedule of all subsequent races shall be as directed by the Principle Race Officer (PRO).
No New Starting signal will be given after 15.30
- SCORING
Worst scores/discards may be applied to this event if four races are sailed.
- PRIZES
Prizes may be awarded as designated by organising authority. Perpetual prizes remain the property of Inniscarra Sailing & Kayaking Club.
Failure to be present at the prize giving may result in the prize being awarded to another competitor.
- DINING
Inniscarra Sailing & Kayaking Club will provide light refreshment after the event to all sailors.
